Summary: 

Qualified candidates will be highly motivated self-starters, able to operate effectively under pressure, as necessary, to maintain uptime of mission-critical systems. The individual in this position will be responsible for responding and resolving support desk requests from employees and contractors. The position will also be responsible for the management of the corporate systems, installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers and networks. The corporate systems are primarily Windows based, with a handful of Linux systems.
As a hands-on professional, the individual will provide end user support as well as IT systems support. He/she will be called upon to support enterprise systems, software, operating systems and hardware and provide tier 2 end-user support. The individual will also have the opportunity to assist in IT upgrades and refresh projects as well as assist various company projects with their IT environments, which are typically Linux based.

Qualifications: 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Microsoft technical certification (e.g., MCSE) or extensive experience as a subject-matter-expert.
• Proven experience in Microsoft technologies; Windows Server 2003/2008/2012 domain architecture
• Deployment (or version upgrade) of Active Directory in enterprise environment with child domains
• Deployment (or version upgrade) of Exchange Server in enterprise environment
• Experience with Linux (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu)
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, the individual will be at the highest technical tier level and ultimately responsible for solving all system problems.
• Must be able to work with vendors and external support services if and when necessary.
• Strong writing and oral communication skills
• Experience with Fortinet network gear is a plus

Duties and Responsibilities:
Regular responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Provide tier 2 helpdesk support, responding to escalated user-submitted support requests
• Manage, maintain and administer:
• 100+ Microsoft Windows Servers and associated applications
• Microsoft Windows Active Directory
• Microsoft Windows Servers (2003, 2008, 2012)
• Microsoft Exchange Server 2013
• Hyper-V
• MS SQL Server
• Linux Servers (Redhat, CentOS, Ubuntu)
• Support and improve production servers, applications, backups and services
• Automate processes that enable desktop deployments and system infrastructure
• Maintain Distributed File System Replication (DFSR) across multiple remote sites
• Document network and server architecture, solutions and enhancements; cross train others as needed
• Write scripts to streamline tasks (VBscript, Batch, PowerShell, etc.)

Education / Experience Required: 

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field
• 6+ years system/network administration/engineering experience

Applicant must possess an active DoD Security Clearance. Applicant must be able to support off-hour and weekend work when necessary.
