In this role, the IT Specialist will work closely with the various Progeny business units, to coordinate and support business needs within IT. This role may also include working with the receiving department when needed.

This position will report to the site IT Manager, with dotted-line reporting to the headquarters IT Operations Manager, as projects and events dictate.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Answers, evaluates, and prioritizes incoming telephone, e-mail, and KACE help desk ticket requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, peripherals and other computer-related technologies
• Responsible for documenting issues for review of the site IT Manager and prioritizing according to the severity of the problem
• Installs, configures, and troubleshoots computers, computer related peripherals, software and network connectivity
• Answers questions from users concerning browser setup and settings, hardware and software applications, including custom applications, such as, Microsoft Office Suite and general Inter/Intranet and website usage questions
• Makes use of remote control software to troubleshoot & repair computer issues
• Trains users on software and hardware, as required
• Install/configure systems with standard Windows operating systems and related applications including Microsoft Office productivity applications, anti-virus, etc.
• Images and deploys new computer equipment as instructed
• Instructs users in use of equipment, software, and manuals
• Performs basic network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems
• Responsible for making image backups of critical machines and camera security files

Must Be Able To Obtain:
• Secret Level Security Clearance with the United States Government

Education / Experience Required: 

Must Have Qualifications:
• Associates Degree in Network Administration or equivalent
• Advanced Troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment
• Understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, Email, HTTP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP protocols and applications
• Experience with Data Cabling / Computer Facilities maintenance
• Ability to run and terminate Cat6 cable using RJ-45
• PC Imaging/Backups/Preventative Maintenance
• Proven skills in PC repair, troubleshooting, and deployment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (in person and via phone/email) with peers, management, contractors and vendors

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

• Microsoft MCSA
• CompTIA A+ or MCP in Windows OS certification
• Strong troubleshooting skills of very complex systems
• Ability to explain complex IT concepts in simple terms
• Ability to manage high priority projects
• Proven ability to work successfully with limited supervision

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to read and write in the English language
• Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours per day
• Handle a variety of work efforts
• Must be punctual and reliable
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
