QSI is seeking an Electrical Engineer to provide the following design capabilities:  low noise preamplifier circuits capable of detecting small signals, amplifier circuits capable of driving a wide range of power requirements over a broad range of frequencies and develop circuit designs using OrCad schematic capture software. 


Ability to: 

  • Design very low noise preamplifiers, and low noise circuitry.  Experience in advanced operational amplifier topics such as active filter design, and PLL’s will be necessary.
  • Understand and design the basic types of power amplifiers, such as: Class A, AB, C, D, and S.
  • Possess a solid understanding of how transistors work, including Bipolar, JFETS and MOSFETS.  
  • Be familiar with transformers and inductors and how to size them; estimate key parameters such as magnetizing current, leakage inductance, transformer and inductors losses and temperature rise, and the effects these parameters have on the circuitry.
  • Possess a working knowledge of Excel, MathCad, OrCad, Matlab, with LabWindows capability.
  • Understand fundamental Digital Signal processing.
  • Possess a good working knowledge of digital electronics including logic design, memory interfaces, as well as a basic knowledge of the Ethernet, emphasis on the physical layer. 
  • Utilize analysis tools such as Excel, MathCad, OrCad, Matlab conduct analysis.
  • Provide analysis predictions on preamplifier designs.
  • Provide analysis predictions on amplifier designs.
  • Provide analysis predictions on amplifier tuning designs. 
Education / Experience Required: 

BS Degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on analog circuitry design.
