Summary: 

QSI is seeking an experienced Mid to Senior level electrical engineer to join the team responsible for the design, development, production, integration and life cycle support of the Torpedo Systems Group (TSG) products used aboard Navy submarines, ships, and aircraft. The TSG designs, develops, demonstrates, produces, assembles, tests and delivers torpedo arrays and other electronic assemblies.  The TSG team works with the Navy, internal production staff and representatives from other companies to advance torpedo performance and lower production costs through engineering and automation.  Technical experience in the use and development of production automation tools, equipment, and techniques preferred but not required.

Duties/Requirements/Qualifications: 
  • Support a team comprised of design, system engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and production associates in order to develop and demonstrate modern process automation technologies and methodologies used to automate specific aspects of the torpedo production process.
  • Research and develop product specifications and develop detailed solutions to meet these specifications using modern automation techniques and equipment.
  • Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain technical issues to program management and the Navy customer team. 
  • Candidates should have a process automation background, technical acumen, an educational background and expertise (experience preferred) in electronic hardware development, documentation and troubleshooting;
  • Successful candidates will be able to rapidly adapt to handling electronic systems technical issues found in system integration labs and during production; 
  • Successful candidates will be able to steadily develop knowledge/expertise across the various tactical baselines and platforms. 
  • Successful candidates will be reliable, motivated and be able to mentor younger engineers on the teams. 
Education / Experience Required: 
  • Understanding of systems and electronics troubleshooting skills required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required.
  • Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security clearance. 
  • B.S. (or higher) degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience) is required.  Greater than 5 years engineering experience required.
